Goal Setting for the New Year

First of all, Happy New Year! With the new year finally here. Many of you are probably either already setting goals or working on creating them. If you are asking yourselves where to start. Here are a few easy tips to get you started.

Make sure your goals are not just for business but also for personal and family. Set target dates. Have both short term and long term but most importantly BE SPECIFIC and DETAILED. Give each goal a specific date. not just stating a month. State the day for example. “I will achieve this by Feb, 28, 2012.” Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself either. You have to push yourself to achieve the goals you want in life faster. Without challenging yourself, you will not be able to get yourself to the next level. So be bold and think hard when you are inking those goals.

The last few tips, are make your goals visible. Make sure you not only have a copy of your goals with you at all times, but place them strategically in front of you. Put your goals statement in places you are in everyday. For example on your dresser, in front of your bathroom mirror, on your fridge, the more you read it, the more likely you will live it and achieve it.  And lastly, find someone to hold yourself accountable to.  Find an accountability system that works for you.  Make it a daily or weekly routine that will track your progress and keep you on track!

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays to everyone! Tis the season to appreciate the people in your life! Make sure you have taken the time to send an email or a card to business partners, clientele and and future business connections. Taking that extra step and display of Holiday Wishes can separate you from the rest! Make your holiday wish unique! Try adding a personal picture or a company logo so you are remembered. Happy Holidays to all & cheers to a wonderful and profitable holiday season!

Branding Yourself

Why is branding so important? Many, many reason! Think about this, perception is EVERYTHING. People only want to do business and associate the best of the best. What distinguishes you from the rest??

Find a special niche and make it your own. You want people to seek out your brand or product. Find a unique quality that sets you apart from every other in your profession.  Stand out.

Add Value: Whether you are a home-based business or traditional small business, people don’t buy your service or product they buy YOU.  People will do business with you because they like you.  Portray yourself as you want to be seen and known.  Become a Leader in your niche and offer advise and educate the people you do business with. Offering education and information pertinent to what you do adds value, makes you unique, and above all creates a perception that you are an expert in your field.

Once you have identified education to offer, and the key element that will make you shine and stand out.  Brand yourself.  Put those key elements out there via social media, email campaigns, as well as pay per click adds, using key words to reach your target audience.

Givers Gain

The best way to attract business no matter what occupation you are in, is to truly build a relationship. I like to use the philosophy of givers gain. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listen long enough and people volunteer information. You see by listening, people will automatically tell you, what they truly want or need. It’s then up to you to identify the key desires that person needs. By filling a need u are truly helping that person in their own life. Often, when networking people try to push business too fast and this can be a turn off to those engaged in conversation. Step back. Listen. Then you can effectively give that person exactly what they are looking for. Givers Gain. Give them what they want and you will automatically get what you want.
